"Praying in Jesus' Name" - John 16:23-33. |
John 1623 In that day you will ask Me nothing."Amen, Amen, I tell you: whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked for nothing in My name. Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be complete. Christ the Victor 25 "These things I have spoken to you in figurative language. But a time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. 26 In that day you will pray in My name. Yet I'm not telling you that I will make requests to the Father on your behalf. 27 For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and you have believed that I came forth from God. 28 I did came forth from the Father and I have come into the world. Again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father." 29 "Ah!" His disciples told Him. "now You're speaking plainly and using no any figurative language. 30 Now we know that You know everything and don't need anyone to question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God." 31 Jesus answered them, "Do you now believe? 32 Listen: The time is coming, and has now come, when you will be scattered each to his own home, and you will leave Me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. 33 I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you have tribulation. But take heart! I have conquered the world." |
