John 16Sorrow Turned to Joy16 "A little while and you will not see Me; and again a little while and you will see Me, because I am going to the Father." 17 Then some of His disciples said to one another, "What is this that He tells us: 'A little while and you will not see Me; and again a little while and you will see Me'; and, 'because I am going to the Father'?" 18 So they said, "What is this that He says, 'A little while'? We don't know what He's talking about!" 19 Therefore Jesus knew they wanted to question Him and said to them, "Are you asking one another about what I said, 'A little while and you will not see Me; again a little while and you will see Me'? 20 "Amen, amen, I tell you, You will weep and wail, but the world will be glad; You will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy. 21 When a woman is in labor she has pain because her time has come. But when she has given birth to the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for that a human being has been born into the world. 22 Therefore you have sorrow now. But I will see you again; then your hearts will br joyful, and no one will rob you of your joy. |
